Production Excavator Operators

FULL-TIME — MULTIPLE POSITIONS

CENTRAL QUEENSLAND

POSITION DESCRIPTION

MCC Group is recruiting experienced Production Excavator Operators for our open-cut coal mining operations across Central Queensland. You will operate large production excavators to load haul trucks, strip overburden, and carry out bulk earthmoving in a high-production mining environment.

POSITION DUTIES

Operate large production excavators (Hitachi EX1200/EX1900, Komatsu PC1250/PC2000, Cat 6015/6020 or equivalent)

Load haul trucks safely and efficiently to meet shift production targets

Carry out bulk overburden removal and coal extraction activities

Maintain awareness of pit conditions, bench stability, and water management

Complete pre-start inspections and report equipment defects

Communicate with supervisors, truck operators, and other crew via two-way radio

Assist with stockpile management and clean-up tasks as directed

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years production excavator experience in open-cut mining

Current QLD Standard 11 (or equivalent) Generic Mining Induction

Competency tickets for relevant excavator class (200T+ preferred)

Proven ability to achieve high production tonnage safely

Understanding of pit design, bench management, and mine plans

Current manual driver's licence

Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
