Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking for an experienced Security Technician to join our team. This role will primarily service the greater Sydney area and surrounding regions, with opportunities for interstate travel.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Security Technician with experience in electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intercoms and alarm systems.
The role will also involve structured data cabling, communications rack works, basic networking, and assisting with Video Conferencing and Audio Visual installations.
You do not need to be an expert in every area. We are looking for someone with a strong security background, good cabling skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided across our systems, processes and broader technology solutions.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Installing and commissioning electronic security systems, including security alarm systems, access control systems, intercom systems and CCTV systems
- Servicing and maintaining security alarm systems, access control systems, intercom systems and CCTV systems
- Conducting preventative maintenance for security systems
- Fault finding, troubleshooting and remediation works
- Security and data cabling
- Installation, termination and testing of structured data cabling, including CAT6/CAT6A
- Communications rack build, fit-off, patching and cable management
- Installation of field devices including cameras, readers, reed switches, request-to-exit devices, sirens, strobes and control equipment
- IP and basic networking works, including switch installation, patching and device setup support
- Assisting with Video Conferencing and Audio Visual installations, including displays, cameras, microphones and room hardware
- Completing site inspections, job notes and service reports
- Liaising with clients, site contacts and internal office staff in a professional manner
Qualifications & Experience:
- Australian work authorisation
- Valid NSW driver licence
- abling licence
- NSW Security Licence
- General Construction Induction Card / White Card
- Proven experience in the electronic security industry installing, servicing, programming and commissioning various systems
- Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm and intercom systems
- Experience with security and data cabling
- IP and basic networking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills
Ideal but Not Essential:
- Experience with Inner Range Integriti, Inception, Tecom, Bosch, Hills Reliance, Hikvision, Hanwha, Dahua, Verkada, Axis or similar
- Experience with communications racks, patching and network hardware
- Fibre optic cabling experience
- Exposure to Video Conferencing or Audio Visual installations
- Experience with Logitech, Yealink, Microsoft Teams Rooms or similar
