Primary objective
Provide clinical leadership, organisation and governance of the Clinical Response, Operations and Coordination (CROC) in the provision
of high-quality critical care for pre-hospital and retrieval services across regional and remote areas of the NT.

Context statement
The CROC is a major whole-of-system reform initiative to improve aeromedical retrievals, inter-hospital transfers and patient transport
coordination across the NT. Through centralised coordination of patient transport and logistics functions, NT Health aims to consolidate
fragmented services, strengthen clinical oversight and enable real-time decision-making to improve patient safety and operational
efficiency.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide clinical leadership in the operations, decision-making and governance of the CROC, including oversight and mentoring for

CROC medical staff providing emergency medicine, remote management, coordination and pre-hospital and retrieval services ensuring
a 24-hour, 7-day response and maintenance of quality and safety of clinical decision making.

2. Participate in the roster as required, including advice for remote management and retrieval of patients to manage complex logistics
and prioritise competing clinical demands, as well as direct clinical care in the retrieval of complex medical, surgical, obstetric, paediatric
and psychiatric emergencies.

3. Build and maintain collaborative working relationships across internal and external stakeholders, including contracted services of the
CROC such as Aeromedical Services and Road Ambulance provider(s).

4. Provide senior representation at appropriate forums as required by NT Health Deputy Chief Executive(s) and Chief Executive Officer.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies, and procedures relating to work being undertaken in order

to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Must have successfully completed a recognised specialist training program and has been admitted as a Fellow of the College

authorising the program (ANZCA, CICM, ACCRM, ACEM, FRACGP) and have specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Equivalent of at least five (5) years of full-time service in medical practice as a specialist.
3. Comprehensive experience in pre-hospital and retrieval medicine, including procedural skills, emergency medicine, intensive care,

anaesthetics, obstetrics and paediatrics, as well as experience in hospital inpatient and outpatient practice.
4. A good understanding of and appreciation for primary healthcare, allied healthcare and nursing colleagues.
5. Experience providing leadership to a clinical team and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a focus on change

management, professionalism, problem solving and conflict resolution.
6. Sufficient clinical and technical skills, to provide medical and logistical decision making in compressed timeframes, with attention to

detail.
7. Experience in remote area medicine, with well-developed understanding of rural and remote Australia and the challenges of providing

first class healthcare in these environments.
8. Demonstrated ability to work in cross cultural environments and interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
