About Dungog Community Hospital
Dungog Community Hospital is a remote rural facility providing emergency care, inpatient medical services, end of life care and low acuity post-surgical care to the local community and surrounding regions including Vacy, Clarence Town and Gresford.
The hospital features:
A 24-hour Emergency Department
12-bed inpatient unit including a palliative care room
Access to GP VMOs and My Emergency Doctor telehealth services
Allied health outreach and community health clinics
A welcoming and highly supportive team culture
Located just 45 minutes from Maitland and 1.5 hours from Newcastle, Dungog offers the opportunity to enjoy rural living while remaining connected to larger regional centres.
About the Role
In this role, you will work across the inpatient unit and Emergency Department, delivering high-quality patient care within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care across the inpatient unit and Emergency Department
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Respond to emergency presentations and escalating clinical situations within a rural healthcare setting
Deliver patient-centred care to a diverse range of patients including medical, palliative and post-surgical cases
Administer medications, treatments and clinical interventions in line with NSW Health policies and procedures
Maintain accurate and timely electronic patient records and clinical documentation
Work collaboratively with GP VMOs, allied health clinicians and telehealth services to support patient outcomes
Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes effectively to the healthcare team
