This is a hands-on culinary role where you’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of dishes, maintaining high food safety standards and working closely with the front-of-house team to deliver a seamless guest experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment and cook a variety of high-quality meals and dishes for the lounge.

Prepare ingredients and maintain effective mise en place to support smooth service and minimise waste.

Cook using a range of methods including grilling, baking, boiling and other appropriate techniques. You will ensure dishes are well presented and meet required quality standards before service.

Maintain a clean, sanitised and organised kitchen, including fridges and food preparation areas, working to dnata SOP’s, WHS, HACCP and food safety standards at all times.

Monitor the quality, freshness and presentation of ingredients and finished dishes.

Ensure all food is stored, labelled and handled correctly, monitor stock levels and support ordering to ensure appropriate supplies are available.

Work within agreed budgets and apply effective cost-control and waste-management practices.

Work collaboratively, supporting lounge attendants with buffet set-up and restaurant operations when required and working alongside other shifts to ensure appropriate preparation and stock availability

Work proactively to identify opportunities to improve food quality, service and efficiency.

Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by Senior Management.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a passionate and adaptable Chef who takes pride in delivering quality food and exceptional standards. You’ll be comfortable working in a busy, customer-focused environment and able to balance creativity with consistency, efficiency and food safety.
You’ll bring:

Immaculate grooming and pride in presentation
-
Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, hotel, catering or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of food preparation and a range of cooking techniques with the ability to work from recipes while adapting and creating dishes where appropriate.

Experience using professional kitchen equipment, cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.

A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.

A commitment to quality, presentation and consistency and capacity to workrotating shifts across a 7-day roster, inclusive of public holidays.

The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse operational team.

The ability to support both kitchen and lounge operations when required.

A working understanding of food safety standards, Current RSA Certificate is a must
