Buckland Aged Care Services is currently seeking a passionate and experienced chef to lead our in-house catering department. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a chef looking to transition from the high-pressure environment of restaurant kitchens to a rewarding Monday to Friday role, focusing on enhancing the lives of our residents through nutritious and delicious meals.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Excellence: Utilise your culinary expertise to prepare and serve up to 150 residents with delicious and nutritious meals, adhering to the dietary requirements of older individuals.
Collaboration: Work closely with allied health professionals to tailor menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents.
Management: Lead and manage a dedicated team of 25 employees, ensuring a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment. Coordinate and manage the kitchen staff roster.
Budget and Stock Control: Efficiently manage supplier relations, stock control, and kitchen finances, operating within a budget that is 25% above the sector average to ensure the highest quality of meal service.
Resident Engagement: Actively engage with our residents bi-monthly at food forums to collaborate on menu choices, incorporating their preferences and feedback.
Food Safety: Oversee and implement rigorous food safety controls to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Facilitate the annual food safety audit.

Extensive experience as a chef, with a background in managing commercial kitchens.
