The Opportunity
We are seeking a Desktop Support Lead to join our People & Corporate Services team based in Macquarie Park, Sydney.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Services Manager, this is a technically hands on role with your main responsibility to manage and support end user compute for all employees of the organisation.
We are looking for candidates with exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and engaging way. You would come with proven stakeholder management & cross functional collaboration skills with the ability to deliver impactful presentation alongside producing high-quality, concise documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, mentor, and manage the daily operations of Onsite Desktop Technicians (ODTs), holding ultimate accountability for the team's output, KPIs, and workload balance
- Serve as the primary "face of ICT" for internal stakeholders, managing escalations, translating technical concepts, and taking ownership of overall internal customer satisfaction
- Design, maintain, and patch the core end-user environment—including Windows OS, Microsoft Intune, SCCM, GPOs, and hybrid server infrastructure—to guarantee system stability and compliance
- Administer the M365 tenant, identity services (Entra ID/AD), and security platforms (Tanium/Netskope), ensuring strict adherence to corporate SLAs and robust endpoint security hygiene
Skills, & Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in Desktop Support, Team Lead, or similar enterprise IT roles, with a proven track record managing and mentoring technical support teams (ODT experience preferred).
- Device Management: Design, configure, and maintain Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and GPO for centralized endpoint management.
- OS Deployment & Lifecycle: Manage deployment, patching, and upgrades of Windows 10/11 environments.
- Mobile & Connectivity: Oversee MDM policies, including provisioning and lifecycle management of corporate mobile devices and 5G eSIMs.
- Identity & Access: Administer hybrid identity environments (Entra ID/Azure AD and on-prem AD).
- Network & Core Services: Support core network infrastructure and connectivity services.
- M365 Administration: Primary support for M365 tenant, including user onboarding/offboarding and group management.
- Collaboration Tools: Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
- ITSM & Ticketing: Manage incidents, changes, and service requests in ServiceNow, adhering to SLAs.
- Hardware & Applications: Provide tier 3 support for corporate hardware (including printers/MFDs) and business applications.
Preferred skills
- Smart Meeting Spaces: Manage and troubleshoot Teams Rooms hardware to support hybrid meeting environments.
- Support and maintain enterprise security and operations platforms, specifically Tanium (endpoint management/hygiene) and Netskope (SASE/web security).
- Virtualization: Administer and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments to support remote and flexible work.
- Server Administration: Maintain, patch, and administer Windows Server environments (on premises/hybrid).
