Senior Advisor: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
Clerk Grade: 09/10
Salary Range: $129,464 - $142,665 + super
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary Opportunity with possibility of extension (6 July 2026 to 9 April 202. A Talent Pool will be created from this process for future temporary and ongoing opportunities.
Location: Hybrid opportunity located in Sydney, with some travel to Gosford and Parramatta for team meetings (flexible working arrangements, including days at an approved workplace, office, or related site, will be discussed and agreed in line with the Department of Customer Service (DCS) Flexible Working Policy).

The Opportunity
As a Senior Advisor in the DEI space, you will be a problem-solver, accountable for drawing on diverse perspectives and experience to design and implement innovative initiatives that embed inclusion at the core of our people and culture agenda. Your expertise in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging will be critical in driving enterprise-wide impact.
Key Responsibilities

Expert Advisor: Provide expert advice and support to the business, HR colleagues, and senior leaders on DEI matters. Stay up to date with DEI research, trends, and People and Culture practices.

Service Delivery: Develop and implement DEI strategies and initiatives across the organisation. Monitor and report on DEI metrics and progress to stakeholders

Collaborative Partner: Foster relationships with employee representative groups and public sector stakeholders to promote inclusion and celebrate diversity.

Workstream Lead: Lead workstreams using design thinking, human-centred design, and/or conversational design approaches.

Inclusive Communicator: Actively listen to others and respond with sensitivity, understanding, and respect.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A proven track record in designing and delivering DEI initiatives in a fast-paced, agile project environment

Expertise in driving positive change with measurable outcomes

Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills in a changing global context

Demonstrated HR capability, with sound knowledge of DEI research, trends, and practices

Strong knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices and anti-discrimination legislation

Advanced analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, organisational development, employee experience, or equivalent work experience
