We are seeking a trade-qualified, detail-oriented Cabinetmaker to join our elite production team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex design concepts and flawless physical execution, ensuring every piece of furniture leaves our facility meeting the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Position Purpose
The Carpenter and Joiner is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing high-quality architectural joinery, timber fixtures, and commercial fit-out components. You will work closely with our design and project management teams to interpret detailed construction drawings, select premium timber and materials, and utilize both traditional craftsmanship and modern machinery to deliver durable, aesthetically superior, and structurally sound internal timber solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Your daily duties are mapped directly to industry-standard benchmarks for structural and architectural timber work:
Technical Execution & Material Selection
- Blueprint Interpretation: Examine and interpret detailed blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements, dimensions, and materials.
- Material Management: Select and prepare structural timber, engineered wood, and architectural linings, ensuring structural integrity, appropriate grading, and minimal wastage.
- Marking & Outlining: Accurately measure, calculate, and mark out materials for cutting, shaping, and jointing according to design and building specifications.
Manufacturing, Assembly & Framework
- Machining & Fabrication: Set up and safely operate specialized woodworking machines, power tools, and hand tools to cut, shape, and plane timber components.
- Precision Joinery & Framing: Formulate traditional and modern joints to assemble panels, fit sheets, and erect timber frameworks, structures, and fixtures.
- Assembly & Shopfitting: Assemble prepared timber, linings, and board components into high-end commercial fixtures, architectural joinery, and structural fittings.
Installation & Site Operations
- On-Site Fitment & Installation: Install prefabricated architectural joinery, interior fixtures, timber claddings, doors, window frames, staircases, and acoustic paneling within commercial environments.
- Hardware & Fitting Integration: Fit premium structural and architectural hardware, including heavy-duty hinges, locks, catches, and specialized brackets.
- Repair & Maintenance: Repair, alter, or restore existing timber structures, fixtures, and high-end joinery as required.
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Finishing & Quality Control: Prepare, sand, and inspect completed structures and joinery against strict quality checklists and building standards to ensure structural resilience.
- WHS Compliance: Maintain a clean, hazard-free workshop and site environment, strictly adhering to workplace health and safety protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Trade Qualification: AQF Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery, or Certificate III in Joinery (or verified international equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial carpentry, joinery, or architectural shopfitting.
- Technical Literacy: Proven ability to read and precisely interpret complex architectural blueprints, engineering drawings, and construction specifications.
- Machinery Competency: Demonstrated experience safely operating standard workshop and site machinery (thicknessers, spindle moulders, circular saws) and specialized hand/power tools.
Preferred Attributes:
- An eye for design detail and a deep appreciation for furniture aesthetics, timber grains, and ergonomics.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot design-to-production challenges on the fly.
