Full Job Description

We are hiring for an experienced full-time Chef / Cook to join our Devonport store Café with an immediate start!

If you are an experienced Cook or qualified Chef, have a can-do attitude and are available during the daytime, we would love to hear from you!

This is a full-time role of 76 hours a fortnight. Day-time availability (7am - 3.30pm) is essential, this will include weekdays and alternate weekends.

You will need:

A friendly attitude and good communication skills to provide the attentive customer service Hill Street is known for.
Proven cooking experience / recognised qualification.
A love of working with food and people (both colleagues and customers)
Energy, initiative and willingness to take direction.
The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety.
Ongoing daytime availability on at least 5 days per week and every second weekend. Your standard roster will be agreed based on your availability and our operational requirements, with flexibility to suit your needs.
Physical fitness for lifting and standing.
Available to start immediately (desirable)

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award. As a guide, the 2025-26 base hourly pay rates for level 4 adults (qualified trade) are:

Full-time & part-time

Weekdays $28.12
Saturday $35.15
Sunday $42.18

Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
