About the role:
Operating within Student Experience Directorate , the Senior Student Safety Coordinator provides specialist leadership, subject matter expertise and advanced case management in the prevention of and response to gender based violence (GBV). The position has responsibility for oversight, triaging and coordination of the Safety Support Coordinators ensuring consistent, timely and high quality responses to disclosures and reports from students across ACU's campuses. The Senior Student Safety Coordinator will lead trauma informed, survivor centred responses to disclosures and reporting ensuring safety, agency, procedural fairness and compliance in line with the National Code to Prevent & Respond to Gender Based Violence in Higher Education. The role will provide expert guidance, advanced clinical judgement, risk assessment and case management in complex and high risk matters, lead and influence institutional prevention activities, and contribute to design, implementation and evaluation of evidence informed initiatives that address the structural drivers of GBV. Other responsibilities include strengthening institutional capability, embedding respectful relationships and trauma informed practice, and fostering a safe and inclusive campus culture. Functioning within the Safeguarding & Student Safety portfolio the position operates with a high degree of autonomy and works collaboratively with senior leaders, university portfolios and service areas to embed prevention focused, trauma informed and culturally responsive practice to drive sustainable cultural change and continuous improvement in student and staff safety.

- Total remuneration valued to $138,111 - $154,409 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $116,706 - $130,478 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
- Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
