Short Round is looking for a skilled and talented Sous Chef to join our small but passionate kitchen brigade in Thornbury. Our focus is produce driven, seasonal and sustainable.

Work in a positive and vibrant team environment
Permanent roster with Friday and Saturdays off
Seasonal menu changes

A position is available at our busy café in Thornbury for a for a talented, hardworking and reliable Sous Chef to join our small but passionate kitchen brigade.

At Short Round our focus is produce driven, seasonal and local. You should be driven by a passion and enthusiasm for real food and have a desire to maintain a strong, quality driven reputation. Working in a supportive environment you will have a calm and positive demeanour. Whilst experience is essential, what we are REALLY focused on, is finding the right person for the role.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing kitchen operations as well as assisting in the development and planning of seasonal menus representing our philosophy for creative and delicious food.

You will have the skills required to maintain all aspects of a busy and fast paced kitchen environment, including:

Excellent communication and time management skills
Strong leadership abilities
Team motivator and mentor
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Great attention to detail with a can-do attitude
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar fast paced role

This Full Time position will suit you if you are looking for a work/ life balance with day time shifts only and a permanent roster with Fridays & Saturdays off.
