Position Description – Unit Manager Property Strategy & Delivery

- Contribute to the development of lease/licence documents and development of key
performance indicators to optimise the utilisation and development of council owned
facilities.
- Foster and lead a team culture which is community and customer focused and
enthusiastic around community benefit, wellbeing and place-making as it relates to
recreation, sport and cultural activities.
- Develop quality work area plans which align the planning and management of Council’s
property assets to the organization’s strategic aspirations of a liveable and engaged City
where diversity and healthy lifestyles are celebrated.
Customer Engagement and Service
- Work collaboratively with community and sporting clubs to ensure facilities are well
utilised and build their capacity to support good governance in the management of
Council leased facilities.
- Foster collaboration, communication, innovation and excellence with all stakeholders to
contribute strategic and operational results.
Reporting
- Review and analyse departmental performance, objectives and outcomes. Identify and
report on trends, future options, opportunities and risk and initiate appropriate
responsive strategies.
- Prepare and/or coordinate departmental reports, Council reports, information for
briefings, business cases etc.
People Management and Leadership
- Provide effective leadership consisten with the CoM Leadership Capabilities.
- Provide leadership and direction by fostering collaboration, communication, innovation
and excellence with all stakeholders to contribute to operational and strategic results.
- Manage team performance to ensure the team and individuals are operating at their
best and held to account.
- Support, develop and empower staff to achieve and develop within their roles.
- Ensure the scope of employment legislation, code of conduct, employee relations awards
and industrial relations are complied with throughout the work area to decrease risk and
create safe and equitable workplaces.
- Lead and develop a culture of safety and develop and implement safe work practices and
procedures within the work area, including the monitoring of outcomes and
performance of staff and review practices as required.
- Ensure the scope of employment legislation, code of conduct, employee relations awards
and industrial relations are complied with throughout the work area to decrease risk and
create safe and equitable workplaces.
