About the Role:
Dr. Squatch is seeking a commercially driven and entrepreneurial retail leader to take ownership of our rapidly growing Australian business as we transition from a distributor-led model to a fully in-house operation.
This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the most exciting growth stories in men's personal care. Dr. Squatch is already the #4 men's wash brand and #1 men's stick deo brand in Australia and we are now looking for someone to help take the business to the next level and drive the brand toward the #1 position.
This role will lead the Australian retail strategy end-to-end, managing key customer relationships, shaping commercial plans, driving retail execution, and building the long-term growth roadmap for the market. The successful candidate will bring strong experience across major Australian retailers including Coles, Woolworths, and Chemist Warehouse, alongside deep knowledge of the health and beauty landscape and modern retail media strategies.

This is a full-time role based out of Australia (Sydney preferred). The position will be remote with travel as needed to retailers. Compensation will be base salary plus superannuation and bonus opportunity. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Leadership & Commercial Ownership
- Lead the transition of the Australian business from distributor-managed to fully in-house, owning the commercial strategy and execution across the market.
- Drive sustainable long-term growth while strengthening Dr. Squatch's position as a leading men's personal care brand in Australia.
- Retail Account Management
- Lead strategic relationships and commercial performance across major Australian retail partners including Coles, Woolworths, and Chemist Warehouse.
- Develop and execute customer strategies that deliver distribution, visibility, category growth, and profitable sales.
- Joint Business Planning & Negotiation
- Build and lead annual joint business plans, promotional strategies, and commercial negotiations with key retail partners.
- Identify opportunities to unlock incremental growth through innovation, assortment expansion, and shopper activation.
- Category Growth & Innovation
- Drive continued success of the core business while leading the launch and scaling of new categories within the Australian market.
- Use shopper, category, and market insights to identify whitespace opportunities and strengthen brand positioning.
- Retail Media & Shopper Marketing
- Develop and execute effective retail media and shopper marketing strategies in partnership with customers and internal teams.
- Leverage retailer media networks, digital platforms, in-store activations, and promotional programs to drive visibility, conversion, and rate of sale.
- Commercial Planning & Forecasting
- Own forecasting, budgeting, and promotional investment planning to ensure strong commercial delivery and profitable growth.
- Manage customer P&Ls and ensure all activity aligns with internal sales and margin objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and product teams to ensure seamless execution and operational excellence.
- Act as the voice of the Australian market internally, influencing broader international growth strategies.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of FMCG account management or commercial leadership experience, ideally within health, beauty, personal care, or adjacent categories.
- Proven experience managing major Australian retailers including Coles, Woolworths, and Chemist Warehouse.
- Strong understanding of the Australian health & beauty retail landscape, including category dynamics, shopper behaviour, and retailer expectations.
- Deep experience in retail media, shopper marketing, and omnichannel retail activation strategies.
- Demonstrated success in scaling brands, launching new categories, and driving sustainable commercial growth.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing customer P&Ls, forecasting, and promotional investment.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and influencing skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
- Highly organised with strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Degree educated or equivalent commercial experience.
