Job Overview

We are a reputable and well-established restaurant in Australia. To support our business growth and increasing customer demand, we are looking for a skilled and reliable full-time Cook to join our friendly team. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic dishes for dine-in and takeaway services, ensuring consistent taste, quality and presentation in line with standard menu requirements.
Perform daily food preparation tasks, including vegetable chopping, meat marinating, portion control, sauce preparation and side dish arrangement to ensure seamless kitchen operation.
Operate stoves, ovens, grills and other commercial kitchen equipment proficiently, adjusting cooking temperatures and timing accurately to deliver high-quality dishes.
Adhere strictly to Australian food safety standards, hygiene regulations and workplace health and safety policies to ensure full operational compliance.
Manage ingredient portions and usage efficiently, reduce unnecessary food waste and support cost-effective kitchen management.
Maintain strict cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, cooking utensils, equipment, cool rooms and all food storage areas.
Store raw and cooked food properly, conduct regular expiry date checks, and implement stock rotation (first-in, first-out) to ensure food freshness and safety.
Assist in menu updates and create daily special dishes to enrich customer dining options.
Work efficiently during peak busy periods, sustaining high standards of food quality and presentation under fast-paced working conditions.
Collaborate closely with front-of-house and kitchen team members, follow management instructions, and deliver excellent customer dining experiences.

Job Requirements

Proven hands-on experience in cuisine cooking, familiar with classic and popular dishes with stable and professional cooking skills.
Punctual, honest and responsible, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise daily work tasks reasonably.
Effective communication skills and strong team player spirit, able to cooperate with team members and follow workplace arrangements.
Capable of working well under pressure and adapting to fast-paced commercial kitchen working environments.
Flexible working availability, required to work weekends based on rotating rosters.

Salary & Benefits

Competitive salary package: $80,000 – $85,000 AUD per year
