Red Earth Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resources Team. We seek motivated professionals to support our strong and growing project pipeline.

Our projects include:

Large Storage Facility Design – New, Existing, and Closure Life-cycle phases
Mine site infrastructure design and water management
Contaminated site groundwater management and remediation
Pumped hydroelectric projects
Mine dewatering assessments
Civil / construction dewatering assessments
Water balance studies
Environmental impact assessments and investigations
Site groundwater risk reviews and third-party groundwater reviews

Essential Duties and Responsibilities as a Hydrogeologist:

We are excited to offer this opportunity to join our team as the Lead Hydrogeologist of our Perth office. A strong focus will rely on supporting our Engineers-of-Record in the design and operations of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), at Geosyntec, however we are also on a trajectory to diversify our services across multiple market sectors including energy transition, government and land development. Hence, our expectations for this role will include:

Act as a central point of contact for the Perth Office
Lead, Manage and deliver hydrogeological projects
Lead the preparation of high-quality and strategically thought-out proposals, tenders, RFQs, scopes of work etc
Be a key leader in the development of Perth Groundwater practice group and consulting services
Mainatin a healthy portfolio of projects that provide the basis to support the development practice groups to develop team
Lead the development of innovative solutions for complex groundwater problems that the WA market is facing or could arise in the future
Provide industry leadership and promote the above services to the local market
Work with mentor(s) of your choice to grow your own career and receive support on strategies to achieve the above expectations;

Education and Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree in geology/earth science/geochemistry/hydrology or engineering or related field of study (required)
Post graduate MSc or similar in hydrogeology (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

7+ years of consulting experience. (required)
Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (preferred)
Demonstrated success in teamwork. (preferred)
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. (required)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines and budgets, and traveling to client facilities as needed

Highly regarded skills & experience:

Post graduate MSc or similar in hydrogeology (highly preferred)
Strong GIS skills - ArcGIS, QGIS, or Surfer (preferred)
Strong data handling and manipulation skills, and data analysis (preferred)
Experience assisting with groundwater assessments and site conceptual model development (preferred)
Fieldwork experience – drilling supervision, logging, testing, sampling, monitoring (preferred)
Experience with Leapfrog, or other 3D volumetric modelling software (preferred)
Experience with 2D and/or 3D numerical flow models (preferred)
