Build production AI and agentic capabilities for Deloitte’s next generation of Tax products
Work in a start-up-like environment with the opportunity to develop new features
World-class learning and leadership programs – to continually drive your career
This is your chance to help shape how Deloitte and our clients use AI, data and automation to transform Tax. As an Applied AI Engineer in our Tax Transformation & Technology team, you will turn complex Tax processes into reliable, secure and testable AI-assisted solutions. You will combine large language models with deterministic tools, structured data and human review to build products that can be trusted in real Tax delivery.
What will your typical day look like?
You will work across AI product design, backend engineering and data-intensive Tax systems. The focus is practical applied AI: building capabilities that are useful, explainable, monitored and secure for enterprise use.
The role involves:
Mapping Tax workflows and deciding where to use AI, deterministic rules and human review
Building LLM assistants, document intelligence and agentic automation for Tax
Orchestrating agents using LLM APIs, tool calling, structured outputs and state management
Building RAG pipelines across ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval and grounding
Building evaluations, reference datasets, monitoring and feedback loops for quality, latency and cost
Implementing grounding, guardrails, access controls, traceability and human review to reduce hallucination and support responsible AI
Building, deploying and supporting secure AI services across cloud, backend and enterprise systems
Working with tax and engineering teams to turn complex tax requirements into reliable AI-enabled product features.
About the team
Deloitte’s Tax Transformation & Technology team builds and operates the products, platforms and engineering capabilities that are changing how Tax work gets done.
We believe the future of Tax will be powered by data, automation and AI. Our multidisciplinary team brings together Tax specialists, software and data engineers, product thinkers and AI technologists to solve complex problems and turn ideas into dependable production solutions.
We are modernising our shared Tax platform and rules engine while developing AI-powered products that support complex compliance and advisory workflows. You will join a collaborative engineering environment where quality, traceability and responsible innovation matter as much as delivery speed.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
