The Ministerial, Executive, Governance and Audit (MEGA) Branch delivers critical governance, executive, parliamentary, ministerial support and internal audit functions that enable the department to operate effectively and respond to government priorities.
The branch provides trusted advice, oversight and coordination that support informed decision-making, accountability and continuous improvement across the department.
Operating in a fast-paced and high-profile environment, the branch works closely with stakeholders across the department and government to deliver key organisational outcomes.
We are seeking experienced leaders who can build high-performing teams, drive organisational improvement and deliver results through influence, collaboration and sound judgement.
This role will play a key leadership role within MEGA Branch and contribute to shaping branch capability, culture and performance.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience in governance, parliamentary, ministerial or executive support, appointments, coordination functions, internal audit and assurance or similar high-profile environments is highly regarded but not essential.

Contribute to the strategic leadership of MEGA Branch and the broader Chief Operating Officer Division.
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
This position is based in Canberra. The role requires regular in-office attendance to support leadership, stakeholder engagement and branch operations. Flexible working arrangements are available where operational requirements allow.
