The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join the talented kitchen team at SK Steak & Oyster.

This is a hands-on role for a chef who takes pride in creating beautifully executed desserts and pastry items, with a strong focus on quality, consistency and presentation.

The hours are predominantly mornings and will include weekend work and occasional evening, offering a great opportunity for a pastry chef who enjoys early starts and being part of a professional, high-performing kitchen.

Your Role

As Pastry Chef, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional pastry and dessert preparation while maintaining the premium standards SK Steak & Oyster is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and producing high-quality desserts, pastries and pastry components
Ensuring exceptional presentation, flavour and consistency
Completing daily preparation and mise en place
Maintaining the highest standards of quality across all pastry production
Working with premium produce and quality seasonal ingredients
Managing your section to ensure it is organised, stocked and service-ready
Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
Minimising waste and supporting effective stock management
Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen team
Contributing ideas and creativity to the continued development of our pastry offering

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Previous experience as a Pastry Chef in a quality restaurant, hotel or premium hospitality environment
Strong pastry and dessert preparation skills
A genuine passion for pastry and beautifully presented food
Excellent attention to detail and consistency
Strong organisation and time-management skills
Confidence working independently and as part of a busy kitchen team
A positive, professional and team-focused approach
Availability to work predominantly morning shifts, including weekends
Full working rights in Australia
