Doveton College is a unique, diverse and vibrant learning community. It is unlike any other educational setting in Australia. Located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Doveton College resides in one of the most disadvantaged metropolitan regions of Australia. It is the first of ten settings to be developed in association with the Colman Foundation, Our Place and the Department of Education.
Doveton College is complex in its operation; it seeks to support, foster and develop opportunities for all members of the Doveton Community including children, young people, and adults. The focus is on providing high quality teaching and learning programs for children and young people from 0 to 15 years old, with additional learning opportunities for parents and the wider community members. It provides a wide range of wrap-around educational, health and allied health services, Maternal and Child Health, and Adult Learning opportunities. Early Learning has an Exceeding Rating in all quality areas; operating a long day setting, with a focus on learning through play in a structured, appealing indoor/outdoor learning environment. Each week students from Foundation to Year 9 participate in the Doveton Engagement and Enrichment Program (DEEP) which operates as an extension to the school day and includes sports, performance, technology and artistic programs.

SC1 Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of CASES 21 and COMPASS Attendance software and an understanding of the processes and accountability requirements in line with DE policy and guidelines. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and the Google suite is desirable.
SC2 Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills - including the ability to handle a complex and challenging reception area in a highly multi-cultural community when relating to students, parents, colleagues and members of the broader community.
Fluency in Dari or Pashto is desirable for this position.

The College Attendance Officer will be an experienced person with the ability to deal with a client base in a large and complex Prep to Year 9 highly multi-cultural community college. As the first point of contact for parents and students, you will have an excellent telephone manner and take pride in providing exceptional service to customers and colleagues alike. Close attention to detail and respect for confidentiality are a must, along with high level computer skills.
It is preferable that the successful applicant for this position will speak Dari or Pashto.
The Attendance Officer will maintain attendance records with attention to detail and accuracy and attend weekly Attendance meetings with the Leadership team to provide relevant data and information in relation to attendance. First Aid qualifications are required to assist the First Aid Officer when busy or on breaks and to translate to parents and students as required. Previous experience working in a large, complex and busy reception desk is an advantage.
Unique to Doveton College are the wrap around services provided at the college for families and the wider Doveton Community. The Attendance Officer will assist the allied health practitioners to arrange for students to be released from classes to attend various appointments throughout the day and record the correct attendance for the students.
Other administrative duties including assisting parents with queries, assisting staff and other duties as required by the Principal Team and Business Manager.
- Responsible for the accurate recording and monitoring of student attendance across the College using COMPASS Attendance software.
- Responsible for the initial communication between parents and the college in relation to student attendance including SMS to parents on a daily basis.
- Responsible for the accurate reporting and data analysis of student attendance to relevant key staff and leadership team.
- Assist the Business Manager with all other functions of CASES21, including student enrolments and other relevant functions as required.
- Undertake reception, clerical and keyboard duties in support of school administration functions.
- Assist with First Aid when busy or to relieve staff on breaks
- Assist with other school software applications as required.
- Retrieve necessary reports when required from COMPASS and CASES21 for coordinators, Business Manager and Principal team as required.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective attendance procedures relevant to the position.
