Reporting to the Program Director, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the definition, approach, facilitation and completion of Physical Infrastructure/Construction projects with combined portfolio value of approximately $20m. Working closely with leaders, teams and key stakeholders inside and outside the university including regulatory bodies, the Senior Project Manager builds strong relationships to ensure services and projects are delivered efficiently, effectively and within agreed timelines.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training (building, construction, registered architect, registered professional engineer, electrical engineering or chemical engineering, project management)
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent)
- Direct relevant experience working as a project manager in physical infrastructure environment (specifically capital infrastructure and built environment projects plus construction project procurement and delivery methodologies)
- Significant proven experience in setting the direction and leading the delivery of high complexity projects with multiple large stakeholders groups with proven ability to recognise and critically analyse stakeholders requirements, able to facilitate discussions with senior executives, strategic partnerships, regulatory bodies and manage vendors effectively.
- Working knowledge of commonly used construction contracts and accepted administration practises, construction industry including Building Codes (NCC), Australian Standards (AS), ISO Standards, Emulsion Regulations and standards, Environmental and Sustainability Standards and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
- Played a key role in developing project management capability by coaching and mentoring junior Project Managers, sharing expertise, and serving as a positive leadership role model.
