An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and ambitious Associate Quantity Surveyor to be part of the management of Altus Group Development Advisory division in our Sydney office.
Reporting to the Director, as an Associate you will provide professional quantity surveying services to new and existing clients, as well as lead and manage a team in the provision of deliverables. The role provides the opportunity to work on numerous projects various in size, across a range of sectors, with a core focus in public education, health, commercial and residential markets.
The Associate will drive the Business Unit's goals, be confident in Business Development and show a strong desire to mentor junior employees.
Job Responsibilities:
Meet and exceed the established performance goals including client deliverables and financial performance.
Assist Associate Director in fee forecasting, budgeting and general reporting.
Assisting in the preparation of submissions.
Develop and maintain client relationships and manage expectations.
Effectively manage the delivery of projects within budget and to deadline.
Contribute to business development opportunities.
Work cooperatively with peers and teams across the organisation to facilitate information sharing, cross selling and expansion of service offerings to clients.
Provide leadership, mentoring and motivation to the staff.
Maintain a working environment based on respect, trust and open communication that supports corporate values.
Assist in the operational running and management tasks of the Business Unit as required.
Job Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Minimum 7 years industry experience
In depth knowledge and accreditation in Quantity Surveying;
Membership in an approved Professional Body
Professional membership with AIQS or RICS required
Knowledge of the local construction industry including development, contracting and consulting sectors
Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics;
Ability to coach, develop and mentor peers
Focused on delivering high levels of quality with respect to work and service to clients
