Overview:

Full time, Continuing position
Salary Academic Level B ($115,303 - $136,925) / Level C ($141,247 - $162,872) + 17% Superannuation
Based at the Bundoora West campus

About the Role

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the school, in disciplines related to Careers Education. The successful applicant is also expected to supervise research projects and theses at the postgraduate level in areas related to their areas of expertise, contribute to School, College and University strategic plan targets in research and/or consultancy, and maintain and develop his/her professional standing within the profession or discipline.

The appointee is also expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team and undertake administrative tasks as appropriate.

The successful applicant must have a completed PhD in a relevant discipline and a recognised teaching qualification together with recent experience appropriate to the Careers Education sector.

To be successful for level B appointment, you will have:

Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
Ability to undertake course coordination role.
Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.

In addition to the above criteria, to be successful for level C appointment, you will also have:

Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and delivery programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including high quality curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches, notably digital technology and AI in career guidance, whilst maintaining student-centred learning and quality improvement.
Ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs.
Demonstrated ability to support effective student learning, including delivering customised programs online, in-person, and accelerated/block modes.
Emerging nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets.

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD in a relevant field and a Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) endorsed qualification (or equivalent) at or above the level of Graduate Certificate in Career Development.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

The School of Education is one school within the College of Design and Social Context and offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in education, pre-service teacher education, early childhood education, educational research, professional learning and short courses.
