At My Guardian we are looking for a dynamic Financial Controller to lead our finance function and drive strategic growth. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a sharp, commercially minded Financial Controller to join the team. This is an office based role.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for the integrity of the company’s financial reporting and the management of the day to day accounting operations. This is a "hands-on" leadership role where you will balance high level strategic oversight with technical precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Compliance & Tax: Manage all statutory requirements, and income tax compliance.
Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors to ensure smooth year-end processes and statutory compliance.
Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in ERP systems and financial workflows.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and project cash flow to ensure the business can support rapid scaling and capital expenditure requirements.
Strategic Support: Assist the CFO with financial modeling for potential mergers, acquisitions, or new service launches.
Systems Optimisation: Act as the functional lead for ERP upgrades or integrations to automate manual reporting.

Ethical Compass: You possess an unwavering commitment to data integrity and ethical reporting, recognising the importance of compliance in a regulated care environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
CA or CPA Qualification is essential.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and a high level of Excel proficiency.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Previous experience within the Aged Care, Disability (NDIS), or Healthcare sectors is highly desirable to understand complex funding models.
Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team during a period of significant organisational change or "rapid growth".
Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency in modern ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, or Sage) and experience implementing financial tech stacks.
Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience influencing executive-level stakeholders and business partners to drive commercial outcomes.
