What will your typical day look like?
Working across on-premises and cloud environments, you'll manage and uplift Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services. That could mean hardening systems, improving patching and vulnerability remediation, or supporting hybrid identity integration across Azure AD / Entra and AD Connect.
A big part of the role is helping clients reduce risk in practical, measurable ways. You'll contribute to endpoint management and security tooling across platforms like Intune, SCCM, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, while also supporting incident response activities and feeding operational data and playbooks into SIEM/SOAR processes.
You'll work closely with engineers, stakeholders, and broader delivery teams to solve complex infrastructure and cyber challenges. From scripting in PowerShell to using IaC tools like ARM, Bicep, or Terraform, this is a role with plenty of variety, technical depth, and scope to mentor junior team members as you go.

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
Experience as a senior Wintel engineer, hybrid administrator, or technical team lead working across Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services
Strong knowledge of Windows security hardening, patching strategies, and vulnerability remediation
Hands-on experience with hybrid identity and Azure integration, including Azure AD / Entra, AD Connect, Conditional Access, and PIM
Familiarity with endpoint management and security tooling such as Intune, SCCM, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
Confidence with scripting and automation using PowerShell, plus experience with ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar IaC tools
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and work effectively across delivery teams
Exposure to Zero Trust principles, ASD Essential Eight, Australian regulatory requirements, or Australian Government environments would be valuable
The ability to hold an Australian Government security clearance
