Full Job Description

Highgreen Projects is continuing to grow, and we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Carpenter to play a key role in delivering quality commercial projects across Queensland.

This position is ideal for someone who not only takes pride in their craftsmanship but is ready to step up and lead from the front setting the standard on site, supporting the team, and ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high level of finish.

You’ll be working across a diverse range of commercial fitouts, refurbishments, and upgrade projects, primarily across Brisbane, with travel depending on project requirements.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand Carpenter, you’ll be both on the tools and overseeing site operations. You’ll act as the link between project management and onsite trades, ensuring work is completed to specification, on schedule, and to the quality Highgreen Projects is known for.

This role requires someone who can think ahead, stay organised under pressure, and communicate clearly with both the team and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by example on site, maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism
Coordinate and supervise trades, subcontractors, and site labour
Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Plan daily site activities and manage workflow to meet project timelines
Identify and resolve issues proactively to avoid delays
Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers in a professional manner
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and company procedures
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient worksite
Monitor quality control and ensure all work meets project expectations

What We’re Looking For

Strong background in commercial carpentry
Ability to manage multiple tasks and trades simultaneously
Confident in reading plans and working independently when required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving ability and attention to detail
Own tools (essential)
Driver’s licence
Reliable, proactive, and team focused attitude
Clear Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
