Position Description
This Position Description is a guide only and is not intended to be an exhaustive or exclusive list of the duties

response to the strategic direction of the School and the development of the skills and knowledge of the

position.

Position Title Canteen Assistant

Reporting Manager Daily operation to the Canteen Manager. Responsible for the Head of
Business Services and Finance. Ultimately responsible to the Principal.

Role Purpose The canteen assistant contributes to the smooth operation of the canteen
each day. It is their responsibility to work as a part of the Canteen team to
meet deadlines and provide friendly and efficient service to students, staff
and parents.

Specific Duties and
Responsibilities

Preparing and serving food.
Preparing for functions.
Serving over the counter.
Restock canteen.
Unpack deliveries.
Cleaning.
Ordering supplies if needed.
Counting takings at the end of the day if required

Other tasks may be required from time to time to ensure the smooth
running of the canteen.

Food handling experience.
Strong people skills, with the ability to work with a range of people

and build relationships across all areas.

Friendly and helpful manner for all.
Skills in prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
Flexibility and initiative in looking for solutions.

Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential manner.

Essential Qualifications Essential: Working with Children check required

Food Handling Certificate (recommended)
