DESCRIPTION

To get there, the Global Engineering Services (GES) Emerging Countries Launch Team (Launch Team) needs exceptionally talented, bright, innovative and driven leaders. The key to this mission is strategic, large scale project management initiatives that will allow us to scale our organization for the future in an extraordinary manner.

The Launch Team is seeking a qualified candidate to solve the complex challenges of progressive innovation to drive efficiencies at operational benchmark rates. We are looking for a customer-obsessed Program Manager with proven program management experience and a strong track record of delivering results to own and execute highly strategic launches, in addition to driving multiple complex projects across one or more programs. As a Launch Program Manager, you will work with and influence numerous cross-functional stakeholders both inside and outside of GES with a direct impact to our internal customers in operations. This role calls for an individual who is not only passionate about continuous improvement but also can strategically develop processes and mechanisms to achieve business goals.

The successful candidate

manages multiple projects with competing deadlines whilst maintaining a customer focus;
collaborates with and influences team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and presenting projects to senior leadership on a regular basis;
partners to build and execute on new initiatives and roadmaps each year;
optimizes cross-team processes that improve team efficacy and delivery;
has the technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate directly with technical teams;
takes ownership and accountability for programs, while maintaining the ability to ask for help, and escalate issues and problems as necessary to keep programs on track;
is comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and operating in a rapidly evolving and changing landscape;
dives into the details and leverage high judgment and gut instinct; and
communicates effectively to all stakeholders related to a launch or program/project.

Key job responsibilities

Extensive travel, up to 50%
Effectively manage the Road to Launch process, which ultimately allows for a building hand-off that passes operational readiness testing and sets the operations team up for success
Manage day-to-day relationships with multiple Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sort Centers (SCs) and Delivery Stations (AMZL)
Coordinate GES and Operations stakeholders to exceed Amazon standards for the launch of new sites or expansions of existing buildings in order to achieve operational success
Dive deep into existing processes to identify defects or opportunities for process improvements
Compile, manage, and report on weekly project metrics
Drive multiple projects to optimize, standardize, and/or improve processes within and outside of launch
Technical configuration of new buildings, E2E testing to ensure operationalization and troubleshooting with tech teams globally
Understand operational flow and dependencies, ensuring expansion/launch works align with facility capabilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree
Advance English B2+

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of driving process improvements experience
Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Construction Management or equivalent.
Operations experience leading the execution of daily operational plans.
Demonstrated capability in the planning, design review & implementation, and project management / control of new structures & the enhancement of existing facility buildings.
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese are considered preferred qualifications.
