The NSW Department of Education is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Correspondence Coordinator to provide high-quality support in managing and, when needed, preparing and writing official correspondence and briefings.

This role liaises with CESE business units and corporate areas to respond proactively under tight deadlines while maintaining exacting standards of accuracy, presentation, and timeliness.

Responsibilities include coordinating CESE official correspondence to high standards, preparing briefings, reports, submissions, and issue responses, collaborating with CESE Directors and senior leaders to produce written materials, advising on records management and tracking systems, guiding administration staff to improve capacity, planning and managing high-volume workloads with conflicting deadlines, delivering accurate, well-written correspondence, and handling sensitive matters in partnership with senior officers.

About you

Proven experience managing official correspondence, briefings, and related documents.
Takes responsibility for their work from inception to final delivery, with accountability for outcomes.
Maintains excellent memory for detail, deadlines, and related context to ensure accuracy.
Demonstrates empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting colleagues and stakeholders.
Proactively drives quality and timeliness in all correspondence and briefs.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; meticulous attention to detail.
Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Experience with records management, databases, and tracking systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
High level of confidentiality and professional judgment.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
