Full Job Description

Yes Interiors Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Ceiling Fixer / Wall and Ceiling Fixer to join our team. The successful candidate will undertake wall and ceiling installation and finishing work across residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Measure, mark and cut plasterboard and other lining materials to required dimensions;
Install and secure plasterboard to walls, ceilings, frames and battens;
Install suspended ceiling systems and associated ceiling components;
Determine plasterboard layouts and assist with the installation of insulation and other lining materials;
Install cornices, corner beads, trims and other plaster fittings;
Prepare and finish plasterboard joints, screw holes and fixing points using jointing compounds and tapes;
Plumb, level and straighten wall and ceiling surfaces, corners and angles;
Install acoustic, insulating and fire-rated wall and ceiling systems where required;
Repair and replace damaged plasterboard, ceilings and wall linings;
Read and interpret plans, drawings and job specifications to complete work accurately;
Ensure completed work meets required quality and finish standards; and
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

Skills and Experience

Relevant trade qualification in wall and ceiling fixing/plastering, or at least one-year of relevant work experience;
Previous experience in ceiling fixing, plasterboard installation and finishing;
Ability to read plans, measure accurately and work independently;
Sound knowledge of relevant tools, materials and installation techniques;
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship;
Ability to work effectively as part of a team; and
Current driver's licence preferred.

Annual Salary from $79,500 to $85,000
