About the role:

Create Meaningful Change Every Day

MacKillop Family Services is on the lookout for compassionate, reliable people to join our Out of Home Care team on a casual basis. In this role, you’ll support children and young people with complex needs in a warm, therapeutic residential home.

As a Residential Youth Care Worker, you’ll help create a safe, stable, and supportive environment. You’ll be there for day‑to‑day care as well as emotional support, helping young people build confidence, resilience, and important life skills.

If you’re passionate about making a real difference and want to grow your experience in a purpose‑driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you. Please note, availability for night shifts is essential.

This is a casual opportunity based throughout our Warrnambool region within our Out of Home Care Program. This position reports to the Residential House Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or if you hold a similar or relevant qualification such as a Diploma of Community Services, Social Work, or another related tertiary qualification you’re also encouraged to apply.
A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
Demonstrate empathy for young people in our care in an open minded and nonjudgmental manner.
Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.

You must have a:

First Aid Certification (with minimum 6 month validity)
Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
