About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Christian educator who desires to make a lasting impact in the lives of students through high-quality teaching and Christ-centred education.

This part-time role is due to start as soon as is practicable and has the potential to turn into full time.

As a part of your application, you must read and support the Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy and the Child Safety Code of Conduct.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study;
Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students;
Support the co-curricular Performing Arts programs;
Demonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional development;
Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards;
Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school’s child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for Schools;
Ensure students’ views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives;
Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
Teach an area of the curriculum to primary and secondary year levels;
Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress;
Implement effective student management consistent with the school’s strategic plan;
Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience

You have a relevant bachelor degree and any other relevant teaching qualifications (i.e. Masters of Education)
Proof of identity
Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) (or ability to get registration)
Statements of service from previous child-connected roles
References from previous child-connected roles

You will:

Be a committed Christian, comfortable with sharing your faith
Be committed to improving student academic outcomes
Have high expectations for what students are capable of, both academically and behaviourally
Relate well to staff, students and parents. You are able to inspire and manage students, and communicate effectively with parents to support a culture of high expectations
Have a servant heart
Have demonstrated excellent organisational skills
