Full Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding work environment? The Athenaeum Club, one of Melbourne's most prestigious establishments, seeks proactive individuals to join its Front Desk team. We have one full time role and a casual role. The position of Concierge presents a rare and exciting opportunity to join a long established highly regarded city Club. Operating 24/7, the Concierge team delivers exceptional customer service to our members, reciprocal members, and guests.

In this role you are the first point of contact and will be responsible for providing a professional, friendly and highly efficient service to members, guests and staff. Engaging with our members is one of your key responsibilities. Duties include greeting members and guests, managing incoming calls, facilitating check-in and check-out, corresponding with international clubs, making reservations and supporting the administrative needs of the Club.

The successful candidateswill:

Be a happy and self-motivated person. You always have a smile, you acknowledge everyone who walks in the door and you are always willing to help and engage
Be a solid and independent character who is able to work well under pressure and at times unsupervised
Be discreet, trustworthy and have great integrity
Have excellent grooming and personal presentation
Have excellent attention to detail
Have great flexibility and be available to work varying shifts across 7 days - this is a must.
Display great initiative and strong problem solving skills, you're always looking for things to do and, with consultation, how to improve existing processes
Have the ability to communicate professionally with members and team colleagues
Have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks effectively
Have strong computer and administrative skills - competent in Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and Mail-merge
Have basic knowledge of database management, experience with Northstar an advantage
Have front office administrative hospitality experience, ideally previous experience in an accommodation management system in a 4 or 5 star hotel

In return the Club provides a fair roster. Award wage Level 3 Front Office Grade 2, with weekend penalties. Five (5) weeks annual leave for the full time position. Shifts vary, (7.00am - 3.30pm or 3.00pm - 11.30pm) and include weekends. You may also be asked to work the occasional 11.30pm - 7.30am shift to help out the team in the event of an emergency. You will be provided with laundered uniforms, complimentary staff meals, wine discounts, car parking discounts, training/development opportunities, Wellness Program, great social activities and a friendly work environment.
