Cleaning Supervisor – Hospital Environment

Full-time, hands-on supervisory role within a hospital environment
Monday to Friday roster, commencing at 6:00am
Above Award rates, from $29.03 per hour
Up-to-date vaccinations are mandatory for hospital site access in line with Queensland Health requirements
Convenient location close to public transport

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Leading Hand Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at one of Brisbane’s largest private hospitals. This full-time, hands-on role will see you supporting, guiding, and working alongside a large cleaning team to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Your leadership will be key to delivering consistent standards, supporting team performance and helping create a positive, team-focused workplace that exceeds client expectations.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the site management team, you will:

Lead, support and work alongside a large cleaning team
Perform general and specialist cleaning duties in a hospital environment
Sweep, mop and vacuum assigned areas to a high standard
Clean and disinfect public spaces, meal rooms, offices, bathrooms and other designated areas
Undertake manual handling tasks, including the safe use of cleaning equipment and trolleys
Remove rubbish and dirty linen safely and efficiently
Use cleaning chemicals to sanitise and disinfect in line with site procedures
Monitor cleaning standards, support daily workflow and proactively manage stakeholder expectations
Model safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety and compliance culture

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong work ethic, a safety-first mindset and the ability to lead by example. You will also have:

Previous commercial cleaning experience, ideally within a hospital, healthcare or large-site environment
Experience leading, supporting or supervising a team
Strong knowledge of cleaning, hygiene and infection-control standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
A hands-on approach and the confidence to work in a fast-paced environment
The ability to follow site procedures, use cleaning chemicals safely and maintain high attention to detail
A current national criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one

Evidence of up-to-date vaccinations as required for hospital site access in line with Queensland Health requirements
