MARKETING SPECIALIST

Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Hours: Minimum 38 Hours Per Week
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per annum plus Superannuation (commensurate with experience)

About Island Outdoors

Island Outdoors Pty Ltd is a leading Australian supplier of premium outdoor living products and construction materials, servicing residential, commercial, tourism and resort projects throughout Australia. Our product range includes Bali huts, African and synthetic thatch roofing systems, timber shingles, PVC fencing systems, bamboo products, umbrellas and outdoor structures.

As the business continues to expand its national footprint, e-commerce operations and digital marketing activities, we are seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to support business growth, customer acquisition and brand development across Australia.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director and senior management team, the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for identifying market opportunities and developing, coordinating and implementing marketing strategies that promote the company's products and services, strengthen brand visibility, increase customer engagement and support revenue growth.

The position is responsible for supporting national marketing initiatives, customer acquisition activities and business growth across multiple product divisions.

The role is a permanent full-time position and forms an important part of Island Outdoors' ongoing business expansion strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote Island Outdoors' outdoor living products and support business growth across Australia.
Planning, managing and optimising digital advertising campaigns across platforms including Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), YouTube and other digital channels.
Identifying market opportunities for new and existing products through market research, competitor analysis and consumer trend evaluation.
Researching potential demand and market characteristics for new and existing products and services.
Analysing consumer behaviour, market trends and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and support strategic marketing decisions.
Analysing advertising performance metrics, customer behaviour, campaign effectiveness, conversion rates, lead generation performance and return on advertising spend.
Managing website marketing initiatives, including product promotion, search visibility, customer engagement and e-commerce optimisation through Shopify and associated digital channels.
Supporting business growth through the development and execution of marketing objectives, policies and programs.
Developing, implementing and monitoring marketing plans, budgets and performance objectives to support business growth and marketing effectiveness.
Monitoring lead generation performance and contributing to sales pipeline strategies that support customer acquisition and revenue growth.
Advising management on product positioning, product mix, pricing strategies, advertising initiatives, sales promotion activities, distribution channels and brand development initiatives.
Coordinating advertising and promotional campaigns across digital and traditional channels, ensuring activities are delivered within agreed budgets and timelines.
Coordinating the development of marketing and promotional content across digital and traditional marketing channels.
Overseeing the development and production of marketing materials, including digital assets, promotional signage and product advertising materials used across online and offline channels.
Coordinating marketing activities with suppliers, installers, media providers, customers, ambassadors and other industry stakeholders.
Liaising with external service providers and advertising platforms to coordinate marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives.
Supporting the launch, promotion and growth of new products and services.
Assisting with sponsorships, events, trade shows, partnerships and brand awareness initiatives.
Preparing marketing reports and recommendations for management to support business decision-making.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

A Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Marketing, Business, Commerce or a closely related discipline; OR
At least five (5) years of relevant professional marketing experience.

Applicants must also demonstrate:

Minimum three (3) years' experience in a professional marketing role.
Experience planning, implementing and managing digital advertising campaigns.
Experience analysing campaign performance, lead generation and marketing data.
Experience developing marketing strategies and supporting business growth initiatives.
Experience conducting market research and competitor analysis.
Experience managing website marketing initiatives and e-commerce marketing activities.
Experience managing digital marketing initiatives within an e-commerce environment.
Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, digital advertising and social media marketing.
Experience using digital advertising, analytics and e-commerce platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Shopify or equivalent systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple business functions.

Desirable Skills

Experience within outdoor living, building products, construction materials, landscaping, tourism or similar industries would be advantageous.
Experience managing multiple product categories and national marketing campaigns.
Experience working within e-commerce businesses and online retail environments.
