About the Role
As Practice Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice while supporting our dentists and clinical team to deliver outstanding patient care. You'll be responsible for leading our administration and support teams, ensuring operational efficiency, managing business performance, and creating an exceptional experience for both patients and staff.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, business operations, customer service, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the reception and support teams
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the practice
- Creating a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
- Ensuring exceptional customer service and patient experiences
- Managing appointment scheduling, clinician utilisation, and workflow efficiency
- Monitoring key business performance indicators and implementing improvements
- Overseeing staff recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and performance management
- Managing inventory, suppliers, equipment maintenance, and practice facilities
- Supporting financial performance, budgeting, and expense management
- Implementing and maintaining practice policies, systems, and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with infection control, workplace health and safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Managing patient concerns professionally and effectively
- Driving continuous improvement across all areas of the practice
- Supporting business growth through patient retention, marketing initiatives, and operational excellence
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate:
- Previous experience managing a dental, medical, allied health, or healthcare practice
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused mindset
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong financial and business management skills
- Confidence using practice management software and Microsoft Office
- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Previous Dental Practice Manager experience
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Practice Management
- Leadership or business management qualifications
- Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical workflows
- Experience with accreditation and compliance requirements
