Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day operational leadership, technical guidance, mentoring and support to Pest Management Officers and contractors while fostering a safe, high-performing team culture.
- Leading the delivery of Council's pest management programs, including mosquito, vermin and fire ant management activities, while ensuring compliance with legislative and operational requirements.
- Acting as Council's specialist advisor on pest management matters and building effective relationships with community members, government agencies, contractors and industry stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, research projects and the implementation of innovative technologies and best-practice pest management solutions.
- Delivering community education, engagement programs and presentations that promote public health, biosecurity awareness and environmental outcomes across Redlands Coast.
Skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in pest management and demonstrated expertise in mosquito, vermin and fire ant management, including the application of relevant legislation and industry best practice.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and motivating field-based teams and contractors, with a strong focus on safety, capability development and service delivery outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including community education, presentations, report writing and the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Experience driving operational improvements, implementing innovative solutions and using data and technology to support effective decision-making and program outcomes.

Eligibility:
- You'll hold a current C Class Manual Driver Licence.
- You'll hold a Pest Management Technician Licence, or be able to obtain one within 3 months of commencement.
- You'll hold, or be able to obtain within the required timeframes, a First Aid Certificate, Recreational Shipmaster Licence, VHF Marine Radio Licence, Elements of Shipboard Safety qualification, and Marine Licence Coxswain GR2.
- You'll be physically capable of undertaking regular outdoor field work, including walking on uneven terrain, frequent bending, kneeling and reaching, lifting and carrying equipment, operating vehicles and boats, and sustaining moderate to high levels of physical activity throughout the workday.
- Desirable qualifications include a Forklift Licence (LF) and General Construction Induction (White Card).
