Reporting into the Head of Human Resources - Pacific, the new HR Generalist will be based at our Notting Hill office in Victoria and enjoy flexibility, a healthy work-life balance, and have the option of hybrid working. You will play a key role in supporting employee relations, performance management, HR administration, policy interpretation and compliance, HRIS operations as a key user, payroll as backup support, and HR projects.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Handle queries from employees and managers, escalating as required;
HRIS management, training, and development of workflows;
Project delivery for HR initiatives and research for potential initiatives;
Maintain annual performance appraisal deadlines and timely manager completion;
Assist with ER cases, investigations, and disciplinary actions;
Support leaders with performance management and appraisal processes;
Keep abreast of changes in employment law and HR best practices;
Generate HR reports, metrics, and dashboards in order to provide and support decisions;
Play a lead role in role modelling WeLEAD competencies;
Execute projects and support for leaders on engagement activities;
Drive opportunities to improve culture, engagement, and employee experience;
Organise and track completion of various training and development programs;
Assist with Payroll, including acting as a backup for the function;
Provide information to the Tenders team for business projects;
Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and;
Always ensure a safety-first approach.

The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes:

Tertiary qualification in HR, a related field, and/or 1+ year in a similar role;
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion;
Experience with payroll processing and related operations highly preferred;
Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation;
Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations;
Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office tools;
Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and;
Excellent attention to detail and relationship building, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organisational, task management skills.
