Full Job Description

Elementi Restaurant is looking for a skilled, experienced Chef De Partie to join our small team in a neighborhood Italian Restaurant in Paddington, QLD.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $77,000-$80,000 per year. The salary is based on 38 hours a week.

We are looking for someone with a great sense of responsibility, work in a team and

eagerness to learn and grow within the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:

Studying recipes and preparing high quality Italian dishes
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu development contributing to a teamwork environment
Delegating tasks and ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner.
Set up kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans and kitchen scales
Informing wait staff about daily specials and contributing to a rotating creative special
Ensure appealing plate presentation
Supervise cooks and assist as needed
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (i.e. dietary restrictions, allergies, slight modifications such as reduce salt, remove dairy etc.)
Ensure ingredients are fresh and of quality and discard out-of-date items
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (i.e. grillers, pasta machines, dough machines, meat slicers etc.)
Advanced knowledge of cooking, baking and pastry techniques
Excellent time management skills
Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
Familiarity with sanitation regulations

Qualifications:

Minimum one to two year of proven experience as a chef

Relevant qualifications preferred but not essential

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
