About the role

The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a key role in delivering procurement and supplier management outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with business leaders, project teams and suppliers, the role is responsible for leading sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships and identifying opportunities to reduce cost, improve value and mitigate risk. This position partners with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver procurement initiatives, provide commercial guidance and ensure procurement activities are completed in accordance with governance requirements and best practice.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Lead sourcing activities across Australia and New Zealand, including RFPs, RFQs and supplier negotiations.

Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies to support business objectives.

Identify and deliver cost reduction, supplier consolidation and process improvement opportunities.

Conduct spend analysis, market assessments and supplier evaluations to inform procurement decisions.

Manage end-to-end supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance management and ongoing governance.

Partner with business units, project teams, finance, legal and risk teams to support procurement initiatives and business outcomes.

Provide guidance on procurement policies, processes and governance requirements.

Identify, assess and mitigate supplier and commercial risks throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Support the review, negotiation and management of supplier contracts and commercial agreements.

Prepare procurement reports, business cases and executive-level presentations to support decision making.

Requirements and Experience

Essential

Minimum 4 years' experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain roles.

Demonstrated experience leading sourcing events and supplier negotiations.

Strong understanding of procurement governance, category management and supplier management principles.

Proven contract negotiation and contract management capability.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.

Well-developed analytical and financial acumen, including spend analysis, cost modelling and business case development.

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for analysis, reporting and executive presentations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Proactive and outcomes-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Experience managing large-scale outsourcing, technology or managed services agreements.

Experience supporting major bids, commercial proposals or business case evaluations.

Procurement experience across both direct and indirect spend categories.

Qualifications in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Supply Chain.
