About the Department / Program
The Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer provides strategic, professional and operational leadership for Monash Health's nursing and midwifery workforce of more than 10,000 clinicians. Bringing together the Workforce, Professional Practice, Education, Mental Health Education, Prevention of Violence and Agression and Practice Improvement teams, the Office drives workforce capability, professional standards, clinical governance, staff safety and continuous improvement working in partnership with clinical services across the organisation. The Office supports nurses and midwives at every stage of their career to deliver safe, high-quality and compassionate care for our community.
The Nursing and Midwifery education team plays a pivotal role in building contemporary, adaptable and highly skilled workforce - one that is confident, supported and inspired to grow. We are passionate about developing clinicians across all stages of their career, from novice to expert. We create supportive learning environments that inspire curiosity, enhance clinical practice and empower our teams through evidence informed education strategies.

About The Role / Opportunity
We are seeking passionate midwives who are looking for an opportunity to become a Clinical Midwifery Educator to join our Nursing and Midwifery Education Team within the Maternity Program x1 0.84 EFT, permanent ongoing based primarily at Dandenong Hospital and x1 0.84eft fixed term at Casey until 1.8.2027 working Monday to Friday. In this dynamic role, you will:
Support and guide midwives across all levels of practice
Promote evidence-based care and contemporary clinical standards
Build capability through education, mentorship and clinical leadership
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
Contribute to a highly skilled workforce delivering exceptional maternity care
About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and attributes:
Experienced, motivated and ready to grow your impact through education and leadership.
Strong clinical expertise across the full scope of midwifery practice
A passion for teaching, mentoring and supporting others from novice to expert learners and employees
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
A commitment to safe, high-quality, woman-centred care
Initiative, adaptability and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
What You’ll Need:
Current AHPRA registration (dual midwife/nurse)
Minimum 4 years’ or more of acute clinical midwifery experience
Previous clinical education experience
Postgraduate qualification in education/relevant speciality clinical area
Highly Desirable:
Postgraduate Master's qualification (or working towards)
Professional membership of a relevant nursing/midiwfery or education organisation
