People and Culture Officer (NDIS)
Location: Remote (Australia-Based Team)

Hourly Rate: AUD $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
About the Role
Caterpillar Care Support Services is seeking a highly organized and motivated People and Culture Officer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with previous NDIS industry experience who is passionate about recruitment, compliance, employee engagement, and supporting a positive workplace culture.
You will play a key role in managing the employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding through to offboarding—while ensuring compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, company policies, and HR best practices.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have previous experience working within the NDIS sector.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous NDIS experience (Essential and Required)
- Strong understanding of NDIS compliance and workforce requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding
- Conduct interviews with prospective employees.
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end onboarding process.
- Conduct staff inductions and orientation sessions.
- Verify employment references and pre-employment checks.
- Assist with recruitment campaigns and staffing requirements.
Employee Relations & HR Administration
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation, including:
- Employment contracts
- Warning letters
- Disciplinary notices
- Performance improvement documentation
- Termination letters
- Exit documentation
- Other employment-related correspondence
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Support managers with day-to-day HR matters.
- Assist with roster-related requests and follow up with staff regarding roster updates when required.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure employee compliance remains current for NDIS audit requirements.
- Monitor and maintain staff compliance records, including mandatory checks and certifications.
- Assist the Compliance Team with NDIS audits and quality assurance activities.
- Prepare, review, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, Fair Work requirements, and NDIS Practice Standards.
General Administration
- Provide HR administrative support across the business.
- Complete ad hoc tasks as requested by management.
