Our college comprises approximately 1000 students across two campuses: the Middle Years Campus (Years 7-9) situated in Mill Park, and the Senior Campus (Years 10-12) located in Epping. Mill Park Secondary College offers an extensive and diverse range of curriculum options at all year levels. The Middle Years curriculum prepares students thoroughly for their Senior Years, where they have the opportunity to select from a wide array of electives. This allows them to specialise in areas that align with their interests and passions, including the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Vocational Education and Training (VET), and Victorian Certificate of Education Vocation Major (VCE VM). Our school also has partnerships with both Latrobe University and Melbourne University, enabling students to complete university-level subjects while in Year 12.
For gifted and talented students, Mill Park Secondary College provides a Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program that commences in Year 7 and continues throughout secondary schooling. This program caters to students known for their accelerated learning abilities and capacity for exceptionally high standards of performance.
We offer a wide range of extracurricular opportunities in areas such as leadership, performing arts, music, sports, and various clubs to enrich the overall educational experience of our students.

Learning Specialist - Instructional Leaders will work as a team to develop and implement the school's professional learning agenda, supporting the ongoing improvement of teacher practice across the college in the areas of learning and engagement. Working with well-established school-based models, as well as the DET's Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 and associated resources, Instructional Leaders will help drive a culture of growth and consistency across the college.
The key responsibilities of the Learning Specialist may include, but are not limited to:

Working with the school leadership team and DET resources to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice, and a whole-school professional learning plan.

Modelling the use of student data to inform teaching approaches at a classroom level and supporting the school to make evidence-based and data-informed decisions related to its professional learning plan.

Developing and leading the implementation of Professional Learning Communities across the college.

Playing a key role in the provision of college-wide professional learning, including observation and coaching of teams and individual teachers in the classroom to support improved practice.

Demonstrating and modelling exemplary classroom practice, including through teaching demonstration lessons.

Leading and modelling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.

Providing instructional leadership and support to designated Learning Areas to ensure the consistent delivery of an evidence-informed, scaffolded, skills-based curriculum across Years 7¿12, promoting excellence in teaching, learning and student outcomes.

Ensuring that the college is managing risk in line with DET requirements and that an organisational culture of Child Safety is being strengthened and embedded at all times.

Providing visible and supportive leadership to the school community at all times, in line with the values of both Mill Park Secondary College and DET.

Any other duties as required by the Principal.
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class:
