About the role

Are you passionate about data, reporting and asset information management? Do you enjoy working with complex information and turning it into meaningful insights that support organisational decision-making?

We're looking for an experienced Asset Information Support Officer to join our Assets and Programs team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the quality, integrity and governance of Council's asset and project information while supporting asset management, financial reporting, compliance obligations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will coordinate and manage asset information, support fixed asset accounting processes, prepare reporting and assist with customer and information requests. Your work will directly contribute to informed decision-making and the effective management of Council's infrastructure assets.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Asset Management, Business, Information Management or a related discipline; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience in asset management, financial reporting, information management or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, reconciliations, revaluations and financial reporting.
Proven experience managing and maintaining data, information and reporting systems within a corporate environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, analyse and present complex information to support decision-making.
Experience contributing to data governance, information management, data quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
Strong customer service skills and experience responding to information requests and enquiries.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Desirable

Experience working within local government or a public sector environment.
Experience using asset management and financial systems such as Assetic and TechnologyOne.
Experience with GIS, Power BI or similar corporate reporting and information systems.
Understanding of asset management principles, information governance, Freedom of Information (FOI) processes and compliance obligations.
