The PLE Administrative Project Officer role supports the coordination and delivery of legal training to VLA’s lawyers and practice partners to ensure the provision of high-quality legal services.

About the role
The Professional Legal Education Administrative/Project Officer will provide effective and efficient administrative and project support to the Practice Support team's professional legal education work to strengthen the provision of professional legal learning to Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) lawyers and practice partners.
This role supports the coordination and delivery of legal training to VLA's lawyers and practice partners to ensure the provision of high-quality legal services to clients and enable professional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements to be met.
Professional Legal Education
PLE, as part of VLA's Practice Support team, supports VLA lawyers through targeted training and professional development. The team provides a directed and strategic approach to training that ensures staff receive the right training at the right time as well as fulfilling CPD requirements. An ongoing program of training activities across all practice areas using contemporary learning methodologies and technologies keeps VLA lawyers up to date with legal knowledge and developments. The team also provides advice and support to meet learning objectives and development needs.This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or other relevant qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated high level administrative support and organisational skills including the ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines under pressure in a busy team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective team support whilst undertaking events or project-based work and manage tasks with minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to liaise effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and to write clear and effective communications as required.
- Experience coordinating the administrative functions of training, conferences and events and in video editing (highly desirable)
