Full Job Description

Small Friends Playschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our team in Singleton, WA 6175. This is a part-time (2-3 days per week) position that plays a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care to our young learners. As an ECT, you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children aged 2.5-5 years can develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering exceptional childcare and education services that support each child's unique developmental journey.

Our philosophy centres on play-based learning, partnership with families and supporting each child's individual developmental needs. We are dedicated to maintaining high standards of care and education whilst fostering a sense of belonging and community for all the families.

What you'll be doing
Planning and delivering age-appropriate educational activities and play-based learning experiences that promote children's development across all areas of the curriculum
Providing direct care and supervision to children in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment
Building meaningful relationships with children and families, fostering trust and open communication
Observing and assessing children's development and learning to inform planning and identify areas for support
Maintaining health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice
Collaborating with colleagues and families to support children's wellbeing and learning goals
Participating in team meetings, professional development and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required by legislation and internal policies
What we're looking for
A recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification (Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent) with a minimum 3 years experience
Current registration with the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) or eligibility to obtain registration
A current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance or willingness to obtain one
Current First Aid and CPR certification relevant to early childhood
A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families and colleagues
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and early childhood best practice methodologies EYLF
Ability to create inclusive, welcoming environments that celebrate diversity and meet individual needs
Flexibility, reliability and a positive attitude towards collaborative teamwork
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of early childhood education

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
