Introduction:
Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride.

Description:
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experienc in your designated outlet. Supporting the Executive Chef, you’ll lead by example, inspire your team, and maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and creativity.

About the role

Keep service smooth and standards sky high
Lead, mentor and inspire a talented kitchen team,
Foster a positive team culture
Contribute to menu planning, cost control, and stock management
Uphold food safety & hygiene, at all times (because nobody likes a dodgy prawn)
Assist in driving culinary innovation and guest satisfaction
Create memorable experiences one plate at a time

Skills and Experiences:

Positive energy, good banter, and a "let's make it happen" attitude
A natural leader who thrives under pressure
Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and industry trends, but can nail the classics
Excellent time management, organisation and communications skills
