HOSPITALITY MANAGER - KERBSIDE EATERY GLENDALE
Come and lead the next chapter of Kerbside Glendale.
We're looking for an experienced Store Manager to join our team at Glendale and help create a store that our customers love coming to and our team genuinely enjoys working in.
We're looking for someone who is hard-working, positive, proactive and ready to take ownership.
Someone who doesn't just manage a shift, but wants to make a real difference to the people around them and the success of the store.
ABOUT KERBSIDE
We're growing, and we're looking for the right person to help us continue building something special.
Our Glendale store will be your opportunity to make your mark — building a great team, creating an amazing culture and making sure every customer walks away having had a great experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Store Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store and for leading a team of approximately 10–15 people.
You'll work closely with your team on the floor, particularly during busy periods, while also taking responsibility for the bigger picture — people, performance, stock, cleanliness, customer experience and the overall feel of the store.
You'll have the opportunity to build your own team and develop a culture that reflects the standards and values you believe in.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a team of 10–15 staff
- Creating a positive, energetic and respectful team culture
- Recruiting, training and developing your team
- Building a strong team and helping team members grow
- Preparing and managing staff rosters
- Managing labour effectively
- Maintaining consistently high food and service standards
- Creating an exceptional customer experience
- Encouraging positive customer feedback and Google reviews
- Managing stock levels, ordering and inventory
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
- Ensuring daily opening, closing and operational procedures are followed
- Identifying opportunities to improve the store and putting ideas into action
- Supporting the team during busy services
- Providing feedback and coaching to help people improve
- Taking responsibility for the overall performance and atmosphere of the store
THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who cares.
Someone who takes pride in what they do and enjoys making things better.
You don't need to know everything about Kerbside from day one. We'll teach you our systems, menu and way of doing things.
What we're looking for is someone who brings the right attitude and work ethic.
You'll ideally be someone who:
- Has previous experience managing a restaurant, café, QSR or hospitality venue
- Is genuinely hard-working and leads by example
- Is naturally self-motivated and proactive
- Enjoys taking initiative and getting things done
- Takes responsibility for their work and their decisions
- Is comfortable holding themselves and their team to high standards
- Communicates clearly and respectfully
- Is organised and enjoys working with systems
- Can take constructive feedback and turn it into action
- Is confident making decisions and solving problems
- Cares about creating a great customer experience
- Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation
- Can stay calm and positive during busy periods
- Is reliable and committed to their team
- Wants to build something and grow with the business
We love managers who notice the little things.
A great manager might notice that a customer has been waiting a little too long and step in to help.
They might see that the dining room needs attention and organise the team to get it sorted.
They might notice a team member struggling and take the time to coach them.
They might have an idea that could improve the store and take the initiative to try it.
We want you to feel empowered to do those things.
YOUR STORE. YOUR TEAM. YOUR CULTURE.
One of the exciting parts of this role is the opportunity to genuinely make your mark.
You'll have significant autonomy to:
- Build and develop your team
- Help shape the culture of the store
- Recruit and develop great people
- Create and manage your roster
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Make decisions that improve the customer and team experience
- Develop future leaders within your team
We want to give the right person the trust and responsibility to run their store with pride.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
We'd love to see you quickly become someone the team can rely on.
After your first few months, success would look like:
- A clean, organised and well-presented store
- A team that enjoys coming to work
- Staff who understand what is expected of them
- A positive and welcoming atmosphere
- Great customer feedback and positive Google reviews
- Consistent food and service standards
- Labour and rostering being managed effectively
- Stock levels being well controlled
- Problems being identified and solved proactively
- New ideas being introduced and improvements being made
- A strong team culture built around respect, accountability and having a good time at work
- You feeling confident running the store without needing someone looking over your shoulder
