Cook – Full-Time Position at Charlanis Café (Westmead, NSW)

Salary: AUD $75,000 – $80,000 per annum (plus superannuation)Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (38 hours per week)Location: Shop 1, 16–18 Mons Road, Westmead NSW 2145

About Us

Charlanis Café is a well-established café restaurant that has been serving the hospital and Westmead community since 2012. Our venue boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, surrounded by greenery, providing a serene dining experience.

We are proud finalists in the 2024 Cumberland City Local Business Awards and have received consistent praise on platforms like google review and DoorDash.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join ourteam. You will be assisting our chef in our kitchen setting and past experience complying to food presentation standards, recipes, portion control, stock security, food safety, production schedules and cleaning are all requirements for these roles. Some of the responsibilities listed below:

Prepare all ingredients ready by washing and cutting, and cooking all levels of dishes. Season and cook food according to our recipes and/or personal judgement and experience. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Operate the cooking appliance such as stoves and ovens and maintain the good working conditions at all time. Control stocks by estimating food consumption then purchase supplies and procure food from storage. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff.

To be considered for this position you must have:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (minimum). At least 3 years in a similar role. Qualified cook is favarouble Have knowledge of food safety and hygiene producers. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a very fast paced café/restaurant with a very high volume of covers. Ability to work as a team & responsible to work on your own
