Full Job Description

We are a well established restaurant and are looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and deliver consistently high quality meals using the freshest of ingredients. 

The position is a full time role involving scheduled weekend work. We are offering the suitable candidate a base salary of $75,000-80,000+super (above award wage) for a 38-hour week.

In this position, you will:

Contribute to menu development by creating recipes using local and seasonal ingredients, undertake costing and prepare budget
Control and rotate stock, estimate supplies, undertake timely ordering ensuring within budget
Inspect kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure operability, cleanliness and meeting safety standards. Arrange maintenance as required
Co-ordinate and supervise mise-en-place prior to service
Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets
Direct and supervise food preparation, demonstrating techniques as required
Cook menu items using a variety of techniques 
Train and supervise kitchen staff

We are looking for a person with

Minimum 1 year experience as a chef.
Relevant Qualification in Commercial Cookery
Have a creative mindset 
Supervisory skills
Confident approach and results driven
Flexibility with hours and approach
Good communication and technology skills
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure to deliver timely and quality results.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
